Carole moved from Fort Collins, Colorado to Aberdeen on Grays Harbor in 2020 to be near the Pacific Ocean and the lush, diverse landscapes of the Olympic Peninsula. She is a watercolor artist, but also enjoys using acrylic, gouache, soft pastels and charcoal in some of her art.
Travel and photography is something else Carole enjoys. Her playful landscapes and florals are created mostly from photographs and sometimes her imagination while watching paint flow loosely on paper. Her colorful painting style is her own. She likes keeping things loose and tries not to get too hung up on detail. Creating atmospheric, impressionistic, abstract paintings is a fun way of giving herself permission to explore without fear and make art without taking herself too seriously. Several of her paintings, mostly smaller in size are finished in 5 to 10 minutes. Challenging herself to finish quickly is fun and provides instant gratification. Larger paintings take more time.
Carole has a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Dance from the University of California Riverside. She has no formal art school training, other than while in college, she took classes in art and design, photography, and art history. She is self-taught and enjoys watching video tutorials.
Her works can be found at Alder Grove Gallery, Mother Crow’s Studio Gallery, Grays Harbor Hospital Healing Gallery in Aberdeen and Whisperwood Custom Framing Gallery in Montesano.
Dance like no one is watching. Paint like no one is watching.
