My work has a strong story telling aspect to it, stemming from personal experience and a love for old photos.

My work is about understanding local history, with abstract backgrounds and high contrast, to push the subject forward, out of the background.

Brush, brayer, and knife work, with rich black charcoals are always present in my paintings, creating strong contrasts and intense blacks.
