Terry is a watercolor, oil and acrylic artist, who has lived in Aberdeen since 1993. She moved here from SE Alaska (Wrangell) to go to nursing school at Grays Harbor College, and then stayed. Growing up, she loved to draw, and at age 14 she took a series of art classes from a wonderful artist, Edna Neill, who lived in Wrangell at the time. Edna introduced her to watercolors and as many other media as she could. She didn't take art classes again until, while in nursing school she treated herself to a watercolor class by John Wyatt. Working full time didn’t allow much time to pursue art, but after retiring as a registered nurse for Harbors Home Health and Hospice, she found herself with more time to paint. She loves the Olympic Peninsula, which has a beauty that is very similar to SE Alaska.
Terry has more recently taken classes by local artists (like Roy Lowry and Lora Malakoff) and video tutorials. Her works can be found at Alder Grove Gallery and the Healing Gallery in Aberdeen. She enjoys painting birds (especially Sandhill Cranes,) florals and landscapes.
